Resting & Waiting

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. — Isaiah 40:31

Back in March, our ministry team sensed it was time to take a pause. We came together and agreed that from spring through fall, we would step back, not out of weariness, but in faith - to wait, to listen, and to seek the Lord for fresh direction.

And as we looked around, we began to see what many are sensing now: we’re living in a time of great shaking. The world is shifting - geopolitically, culturally, and spiritually. Uncertainty is rising. Values are being challenged. Foundations are being tested. In the midst of so much noise, it is more important than ever that we pause, not to react impulsively, but to seek God’s revelation.

Our prayer in this time has been simple: Lord, align us with Your will. Teach us to wait well and show us the way forward.

A Spiritual Weapon

There is a deep strength found in resting and waiting on the Lord. As Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. That’s not just poetic encouragement; it’s a promise. And it tells us something powerful: waiting on God is not passive. It’s not about doing nothing. It’s about positioning your heart to hear Him and trust Him when He does speak or bring revelation, believing that He is doing a renewal, a strengthening for the next season — which makes rest a spiritual weapon.

Maybe that’s where you are…you are in a season of waiting: waiting for an answer, a job, a relationship to heal, or a door to open. Maybe you’re tired of not knowing what’s next. But what if this season isn’t about what’s next at all? What if it’s about God doing something in you before He does something through you?

A Time to Discern

Like I said, back in March, our ministry team sensed a deep stirring. We felt the Lord inviting us into a season of intentional rest. Not because we had no plans, but because we didn't want our plans to get in the way of what God might be doing.

What is He saying in this hour? What is He asking of His people? What needs to change, not just in the world, but in us?

This is not a time for business as usual. It’s a time for discernment. A time to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what He is doing and how we can align ourselves with His heart. Because if we simply charge forward with old strategies, familiar methods, or human wisdom, we may miss what He’s actually calling us into.

So, let’s not rush the seasons of waiting. Let’s embrace them. Let’s be still long enough to hear Him and move only when He leads.

Because, He still speaks. And those who wait on the Lord will mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Amen to that!

God Bless You,

Carole
