Statement of Faith
WE AFFIRM THE FOLLOWING:
-
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Every divine action in the world is accomplished by the Father working through the Son and in the power of the Spirit. He is infinite and unchangeable in His love, mercy, power, wisdom and righteousness (Gen. 1:1; Isaiah 45:22, Psalm 90:2; John 4:24, I Cor. 8:6; 2 Cor. 13:14, Eph. 4:4-6).
-
We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, who atoned for the sins of the world at the cross through His shed blood, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and who will return in power and glory in the fullness of time to judge the living and the dead, to consummate history and the eternal plan of God (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-18; Col. 1:15-23, 2:9).
-
We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, whose indwelling and transforming power enables us to live out our new life and new calling to evangelism and discipleship within the fellowship of the Church, empowering us with gifts of grace for Godly living and service ( John 3:5-6; 14:15-18; 1 Cor. 12:4, 12-13;Titus 3:2-7).
-
We believe that from the beginning God has provided a way for atonement. The animal sacrifices of the Old Covenant prefigured the ultimate and only true satisfaction of God’s wrath, the death of Jesus Christ on the cross (Hebrews 9:22; Hebrews 10:10; 1 Peter 3:18). His sacrifice is the full and final atonement for sin, confirmed by His resurrection (Romans 4:25; Acts 2:24). We believe that all who repent of their sin and place their trust in Jesus Christ are saved by God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9; Acts 3:19). This grace not only secures salvation but also leads believers into a life of loving obedience and fellowship with God forever (Titus 2:11–12; John 14:23). We believe that the Holy Spirit is essential in this work, revealing God’s holiness, convicting man of sin, and pointing to the salvation provided in Jesus Christ (John 16:8; Romans 8:14). He is the one who brings about true repentance and faith, and by His continuing work believers are sanctified, growing in holiness until the day of Christ Jesus (2 Thessalonians 2:13; Philippians 1:6).
-
We believe the divine inspiration, entire trustworthiness and authority of the Bible in faith and practice, that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts. Redemptive truth is set forth in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, which is God’s revelation to man. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (Psalm 119:9; 105; Isaiah 40:6-8; Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12-13; 2 Peter 1:20-21.)
-
We believe that the Church is the united body of Christ on the earth which exists for fellowship, edification, worship, and communicating the gospel to all nations by means of Christian life and witness (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:6-8, 2:41-41; 1 Cor. 12:13).
-
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but through Adam’s sin became alienated from God. The only remedy for man’s condition is salvation by God’s grace through personal faith in the person and work of His Son, Jesus Christ (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 5:12, 15-17; John 3:16; Eph. 1:7).
-
We believe Jesus Christ will return to establish God’s manifest kingdom, to resurrect the dead and determine the eternal destiny of all men, eternally blessing the believers and eternally punishing the wicked. (John 5:24, 28-29; Matt. 25:46; 2 Thess. 1:9; Dan. 12:1-2).
