The Call to Go

The harvest is ripe, and time is fleeting. Put on your armor and head out the door!

Do not get stuck in the valley of indecision. Choose wisely and walk the narrow path. To travel that path, we must lay down the heavy weights of secular society and learn to flow with the glory of our Heavenly Father. Our greatest desire should be to please God, not man.

Do you hear the sound of the trumpet?

Walking the Talk

I recently spent a few weeks with a woman of God who truly walks the walk. It is rare and beautiful to witness such fearless love in action, reminding me that every single soul is hungry for God’s grace, and we are the vessels He chooses to use to deliver it.

It did not matter where we were — a store, a hospital, or a place of worship — she was ready: "What is your name?" “Can I pray for you?” The conversations flowed so naturally because they weren’t scripted. They were an overflow of genuine love from the heart. It was almost like I could see Holy Spirit whispering the words for her to say at the right moment.

I desire to be a servant of the Lord, doing only His will, and He graciously provided an example for me to learn from. I actually lost count of the number of times she stopped to pray for others.

This is what it looks like to live on mission.

Lift Up Your Eyes

John 4:35 says, “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.”

The world is not too dark to reach, and our focus cannot remain on the darkness when Jesus is calling us to look upon the fields that are white for harvest. People are longing for hope. They are searching for something real, something eternal. And through Jesus, we have the privilege of joining Him in His work.

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Matthew 9:38).

The need today is no different. People are searching for peace, purpose, forgiveness, and truth. Many have never experienced the love of Christ through someone willing to slow down, notice them, and care enough to share.

Jesus prayed first. Therefore, we must pray as He did:

“Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest" (Matthew 9:38).

Your Mission Field

Every believer has a mission field.

Not everyone is called to travel to distant nations. God may be calling you to your neighbors, your family, your friends, your coworkers, your classmates, the person sitting alone at a coffee shop, or the stranger you pass in the grocery store.

Jesus’ final instruction before ascending into heaven remains our mission today:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19–20).

Wherever God has placed us is where He has planted us to shine His light. The Holy Spirit is the One who transforms hearts. We simply plant and water. Every conversation filled with compassion, every prayer offered in faith, and every act of kindness done in Jesus’ name matters.

The question is not whether there is a mission field. The question is:

Will you answer the call today?

A Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Open my eyes to see the people around me as You see them. Give me a heart of compassion and the courage to share the hope found in Jesus Christ. Help me recognize the mission field You have already placed before me.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that my words and actions reflect Your love. Strengthen me when I become discouraged and remind me that You alone bring the increase.

May my life bear fruit that glorifies You and leads others into Your kingdom.
