God Glasses

God has many ways of getting our attention. Sometimes He speaks through circumstances, sometimes through other people, and most often through His Word. But there are also times when He speaks through dreams and visions. That’s me. I know that God speaks to me through dreams, visions, and of course, most often, through His Word in the Bible.

The other night, I woke up from a dream that I could recall in vivid detail, and it brought a smile to my face.

The Dream

The dream began with me analyzing about how crazy our world seems today. I was pondering how different life is from when my parents were growing up, and I thought they probably would not believe how crazy our world is now. But then, in my dream, I began to recognize the reason why so much had changed. People are influenced by what they listen to, what they watch on television, and who they follow on social media. They are influenced by neighbors, co-workers, schools, churches, and honestly, just about any social group out there.

Human beings are influenced by what they feed their minds.

Then, while dreaming about our world, God handed me a pair of supernatural glasses. He said, “Put these on, and you will see the world the way I see it. You will see people as they were created to be.”

I was blown away on how very beautiful the world was. People were loving, kind, and generous. It’s impossible to describe how magnificent God sees things. I woke up with a big smile on my face.

Remaining Hopeful

There are no physical glasses we can put on today that allow us to see the world exactly as our Heavenly Father does. But He has given us something even better...His Word. As we study it, meditate on it, and allow it to shape our hearts, He begins to help us see people and circumstances from His perspective. He reveals His desire for us to love Him and to love others. And when His purposes are fulfilled, what a beautiful place this world will be.

This dream gave me renewed and continued hope for the future. No matter how crazy things become, God is still our Creator. He is still on the throne. He knows how the story ends, and I will stay focused on trusting Him.

"But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’” 1 Samuel 16:7

In Christ’s Love,

Amy
